Which occupation has the less competition for job vacancies?

Which occupation has the less competition for job vacancies? I have tried both for clerical and retail, work but there are always HUNDREDS chasing each vacancy. So which field of employment should I try where there isn't so muc competiton from other applicants?

8. They are screaming for carers but how you're paid it's hardly surprising. They snap anybody up.
9. I applied for some jobs : cleaner, part-time clerk. Guess what? I got the cleaning job.. I would say it has less competition from other jobsearchers.
