The Naval Ship Repair Yard, kochi has grown in its capabilities and is now well equipped to undertake refits of allships based at kochi.The workload on the yard has increased over the years and it provides support to visiting ships,ships undergoing work up and to all traning schools and other establishments over and above the repair of ships based atSouthern Naval Command.In Order to meet this ever increasing load on the Yard, a lot of infrastructure development andcapability enhancement measures have been set up. The yard is examining all possibilities of setting up a docking
facility,which will enable it tostake a claim to be upgraded to Naval Dockyard,Kochi
